Hi. I’m JJ, I’m 14 years old and I’ve just newly joined Moray Firth School after leaving Forres Academy. I’m only staying here for a term and then I’m going back to Forres Academy where I’ll stay for the rest of my school life hopefully. The lessons here are quite different to those of Forres and the school as well is different. It’s much smaller and has a lot less people. We are taught differently here. The lessons are longer and we get breaks in the middle of the lessons. We’re doing a spoof play of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. I’ve got the role of Benvolio. I think I’ve settled in well and I look forward to the next 5 weeks here.

Hello I’m Murray and I am 13.  I go to Moray Firth School. Most people would just say that this place is just a normal School, but, Moray Firth School is more than a School, it’s a family!

That’s one of the main reasons I like this School. When I first joined this School, even though I didn’t know anyone, I was just welcomed by the kids and the teachers! The lessons are always enjoyable, active and worthwhile.

Another bonus is that if the headteacher (Mrs. Cole-Hamilton ) ever wants to talk to you, she will take you to Starbucks and buy you a drink and something to eat and then have a conversation with you!

For such a small School it has got a large sports pitch. Last term, every Thursday we went through to Nairn to do P.E in the sports club. But this term our P.E teacher Dr. Cameron makes good use of the big pitch. Our P.E lessons are split into two parts of the day. In the morning the Juniors have their P.E lesson and in the afternoon the Middles (that’s me) have their P.E lesson.

The teachers here are very good. One of the bonuses is that the classes are small so the teachers can take time to explain things to you if you’re stuck. The subjects we have here are:
Monday: Spanish (Snr Salgado), Maths (Mrs. Scott) and Music (Mr. Hall)
Tuesday: English (Dr. Miller), Drama (Dr. Miller) and Geography and History (Mr. Hoyle)
Wednesday: English (Dr. Miller), Geography and History (Mr. Hoyle) and Art (Mrs. Dyke.)
Thursday: Latin (Mr. Penfold), IT (Mrs. Cole-Hamilton) and PE (Dr. Cameron)
Friday: Spanish (Snr. Salgado), Maths & Science (Mrs. Scott) and Tennis with Tanya.

Hi I am Ben.  I am 13 years old. I am from Moray Firth School. I started in August when I moved to Scotland from New York with my family. This is a great school full of kind people (and chickens).
Our Principal Mrs. Cole-Hamilton is very nice because you can trust her with anything. We do have a chocoholic in this school Dr. Miller our English teacher who occasionally brings in some to share. We do get homework but it is never too hard.

We are a very outdoorsy school, at the moment the juniors are doing gardening. We have chickens and Runner Ducks (if you do come we ask you to not squish them because we love them). Two of our hens Puffball and Toffee ( my names!) are sitting at the moment. We are located near to the airport so if your children don’t like loud noises coming here may be slightly frightening for them (our apologies). Occasionally we see fighter jets, Nimrods, and Easyjet.

If you forget your lunch don’t panic because Mrs C.H always has soup and other stuff to eat.

Our playing field is HUGE! We have tyre swings, Football goals, Basketball hoops, pirate swings, A Wendy house, teeter totter, Bottle Greenhouse, a sandpit, Monkey Bars, a slide, A Hexagon, and a maze.

If you want advice, consider this great school.
BEN CONROY.
